Internet obsessed with love story between neighbor golden retrievers

 The relationship between two neighboring golden retrievers has been compared to a Taylor Swift love song.

Becky Adams, who posts to TikTok under the username @coppercoffeeandme, lives in the suburbs and owns a sweet golden retriever called Copper. And the dog has a bond with another retriever, who lives at their neighbor's house opposite them.

This bond was on full display in a recent video to Adams' page on September 8, viewed more than 241,000 times. It shows Copper sitting on the edge of their front lawn, looking alert, and staring at something across the street.

The camera then pans to show the house opposite—where another golden is sitting in the exact same spot in its own yard, staring right back at Copper, but neither crossing the threshold on to the street.

Adams posted the video with Taylor Swift hit "Love Story" playing over it, and wrote in a caption: "When true love is across the street."

Golden retrievers are known for their extremely friendly personality, being affectionate toward family and young kids, and enjoying the company of other dogs, according to the American Kennel Club.

TikTok users were in tears at the two goldens' friendship, with one commenter writing: "They need to go on a date, please set that up!"

Another viewer referenced another Taylor Swift song, saying the situation was like the "'You Belong With Me' music video."

In the single's music video, Swift plays a character who has long been in love with her next-door neighbor, with the pair regularly communicating through their bedroom windows, and the pair end up together in the end.

"This is freakin adorable. We need a date," another said, while a third joked: "Bring me back for the wedding."

One commenter pointed out how well behaved the dogs were being by staying in their own yards, writing: "Those sweet babies. They are being so good. I need to see the meeting."

"Your dogs are so good," another added. "Mine just busted through her electric fence to play with the neighbor doodle."

And a third shared that their dog had a similar story—which ended in an adorable way.

"Our Golden had the same," they wrote. "They fell in love and had 8 babies last December! We each kept a son. It's so cute when they all get together to play!"
