EIMEAR & FRIENDS
OPEN the
LOS ANGELES
IRISH FILM FESTIVAL
On September 23rd I had the privilege of performing at the opening night of the LA Irish Film Festival.
I conducted some of my favorite string players in an electro-acoustic score I had been commissioned to write to 1920s silent Irish film "In Aimsir Phádraig" or "In the Days of St. Patrick".
Thanks to Anna Kostyuchek, Kevan Torfeh, Dmitri Kourka, Shelly Ren and fantastic Denise Briese for working so hard and playing their hearts out!
We got a fantastic reception from the Irish community and thanks to those who flew in from Dublin for the festival.
The director of the festival Lisa Mclaughlin Strassman is a one-woman force to be reckoned with and has had another excellent year with an event she brought to life from the recesses of her ever creatively fertile imagination. Maith Thú a Lisa! (she kind of owns this town!).

So my friends, if you’ve ever practiced till your arms numbed, soldiered through an outdoor performance with freezing fingers and bad intonation, fluffed notes, played in a rest, found yourself a “billy-no-mates” at the end of a big firmata, been mocked at a masterclass (and as a result think participating in American Idol is for sissies), had your instrument stolen by those crafty instrument crooks that hide in the shadows at train stations, whacked your head off a music stand whilst picking up that elusive pencil you stole from your stand-mate at rehearsal… again,
spent all of your money on whiskey and gas…
…then you might find you own private fluffy-cushion-padded, mommy’s-milk-and-cookies comfort zone here with us at eimearworld – for those of you who are lactose and gluten intolerant see “vomitorium” below.
Why “eimearworld”?
Because we knew it was unlikely that Eimear would sue herself for using her own name.

GUITAR HERO 5 PROMO: Because a dare's a dare!
TYPICAL!
The likelihood of a "serious" musician doing a voice-over for Guitar Hero is directly proportionate to the amount of work they put in to being a "serious" musician.
This thing has had over 1,000,000 downloads!
I hapened to be walking past the music producer, Craig Garfinkle's studio an hour before its delivery deadline...
Well, he only needed me to say one word...and... eh....
There you go Craig, you dared me and won!
...so many years of music college....
